Full ingredients list:
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 5 tablespoons reduced-fat table spread
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions and steps:
Step 1 Preheat oven to 190ºC. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper. Mix oats, flour and baking soda in a large bowl.
Step 2 Beat sugar, table spread, egg, vanilla, mixed spice and zest together in another bowl.
Step 3 Stir egg mixture into flour mixture to just combine. Stir in choc chips. Divide mixture into 16 spoonfuls and place onto baking trays, leaving space for spreading.
Step 4 Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden at edges and firm to touch. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from tray.
Biscuits can be stored in a sealed container for two days.
