Full ingredients list:
- 170g unsweetened dried cranberries
- 1 litre vodka
- 2 oranges, zested
- 175g caster sugar

Step 1 In a saucepan, very gently warm the cranberries with 150ml of the vodka, orange zest and sugar until sugar dissolves.
Step 2 Pour into two 500ml sterilised, wide-necked jars with lids. Pour over remaining vodka, and leave in a dark place for two days, shaking jars occasionally, until liquid is a vibrant red colour.
Step 3 Strain liquid through a muslin-lined sieve into a jug, then decant into two 500ml sterilised bottles. Seal and label. Store in, and serve from, the freezer. Serve one nip (30ml) with soda water.
