Spicy beef sticks with mashed potato

Full ingredients list:
- 500g lean beef mince
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli power
- 8 bamboo skewers, soaked in water to prevent burning
- 4 desiree potatoes, peeled
- 1/4 cup reduced-fat milk
- 1 tablespoon reduced-fat dairy spread
- steamed broccoli and carrots, to serve

Instructions and steps:
Step 1 Preheat chargrill. Combine mince, onion, oregano, cumin and chilli. Divide into 8 even portions. Use your hands to shape each into a smallish sausage shape.
Step 2 Insert a skewer through the meat and squeeze firmly to secure. Chill until ready to use.
Step 3 Boil potatoes until tender, then mash, adding milk and dairy spread, until smooth.
Step 4 Cook skewers for 7 minutes, turning frequently, or until cooked. Serve with mashed potato and steamed veges.
This is a great recipe to mix and match – beef mince can be replaced with chicken, lamb or pork mince for variety.
