Full ingredients list:
- 3/4 cup reduced-fat milk
- 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
- 2 cups white breadcrumbs
- 2 cups mixed dried fruit
- 2 bananas, mashed
- low-fat custard, to serve

Instructions and steps:
Step 1 Combine milk with bicarb soda. Grease a 6-cup capacity basin.
Step 2 Place all ingredients (except for custard) into a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
Step 3 Pour mixture into prepared basin. Cover securely with foil. Place basin into a large saucepan, and pour in enough water to come halfway up the sides of the basin. Bring to the boil, reduce heat, then simmer, covered, for 2 hours.
Step 4 Serve warm cut in wedges with low-fat custard.
