Q: "Do broccoli stalks have as much iron and nutrients as the head and florets?"

A: Dietitian Caitlin Reid writes:
“The nutritional content of the florets and stems is very similar, so both are a fantastic addition to a healthy eating regime. On a gram to gram basis, both contain similar amounts of B vitamins, vitamin C, iron and fibre. However, the florets do contain about seven times more vitamin A than the stems. Whether you eat broccoli florets or stems, you’ll get an abundance of nutrients.”
