Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)

The Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) is the national Association of the profession, with branches in each State and Territory. The precursor of DAA, the Australian Association of Dietitians, was established in 1976. The Association became known as DAA in 1983. DAA represents approximately 3,900 members. Dietitians are employed in a wide variety of work areas including clinical dietetics, community nutrition, education, private sector, government, research and industry.

 

The Board of DAA is responsible for the management of the Association's affairs. It comprises a President, a Vice-President, and an elected Director from each State and Territory. Administrative and professional support is provided by an Executive Director, a Professional Services Director and other staff in DAA's National Office, located in Canberra, ACT.

 

National Office hours 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. The National Office staff has responsibilities in specific areas and offers support.
