Pumpkin purée

Instructions

Stove top

Step 1 Cover pumpkin with water, bring to the boil and simmer until soft (3-5 minutes).

Step 2 Purée in a blender or push pumpkin through a sieve with a wooden spoon. Add water to make a smooth, thin consistency.

Microwave

Step 1 Add 1 tablespoon water to pumpkin and cook in a covered dish for 5 minutes on high until pumpkin is soft.

Variations

Use this recipe with other first vegetables such as potato, kumara or carrot. Once your baby has tried these single tastes, try combinations of vegetables.
