Poached peaches
Get ready for a string of compliments: poached fruit always look exquisite and taste divine.
Instructions
Step 1 In a large saucepan, combine wine, water, sugar, star anise and cinnamon. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until syrupy.
Step 2 Add peaches and place a plate on top of them in the pan, to ensure all peaches are immersed in syrup. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, until peaches are soft. Cool in the syrup.
Step 3 When they’re cool enough to handle, peel off skins and serve with a little syrup and yoghurt.
