Celebrate the spud!
2008 is the International Year of the Potato. To celebrate, the potato industry in NZ is supporting Children’s Health Camps.
Proceeds from selected International Year of the Potato events will be donated to Children’s Health Camps, which provide early intervention programmes in children’s health and education.
The United Nations has declared International Year of the Potato in recognition of the role potatoes play in feeding the world’s population. The UN is focusing on establishing potato production in economically challenged countries; their aim is to reduce hunger and poverty and increase nutrition in a world with a rapidly growing population.
