Steps to help prevent macular degeneration.

Macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness and severe vision impairment in Australia. To help maintain healthy sight, follow this six-step plan…

  1. Eat more dark-green, leafy vegetables. They contain lutein, which is important for optimum eye health.
  2. Eat two to three servings of oily fish each week.
  3. Snack on a handful of nuts.
  4. Limit your fat intake and maintain a healthy weight.
  5. Get regular exercise. Even walking is good.
  6. Don’t smoke – ever.
