Finnish researchers have found that older men who eat chocolate have better health, optimism and psychological well-being than those who don’t.

They studied the confectionery habits of over 1300 men with an average age of 76 years to come to this conclusion. Unfortunately, for those of us looking for a reason to feel virtuous about our high chocolate consumption, they then go on to explain, in great detail, this is not likely to be a case of cause and effect! They believe the most plausible explanation is that chocolate preference is simply associated with some other (unidentified) characteristics that do have a cause and effect link.
