Food safety tip: Out shopping
Even though we’re heading into autumn, keeping chilled food cold when we’re out and about is still important.
Get into the habit of taking a chiller bag (with a frozen ice pack in it) when you’re going shopping. If you’re running errands as well, aim to buy fish, meat, dairy and any other chilled foods towards the end of your outing rather than at the beginning. The shorter time chilled food is out of the fridge, the better.
