Frucor Beverages and Coca-Cola Amatil have signed a voluntary agreement with the Government to progressively withdraw from selling full-sugar soft drinks and energy drinks to all New Zealand schools by December 2009.

The agreement has been made in the spirit of the Food Industry Accord, which recognises that obesity is a major risk to public health and commits the food industry to working collaboratively with Government to tackle it.
