Oily fish improves heart rhythms
More good news about omega-3 fatty acids.
Researchers at Harvard Medical School have found that eating omega-3-rich fish like tuna and salmon has a beneficial effect on heart rhythms, and may protect against heart arrhythmia, which can be fatal.
Participants in the study who ate five or more servings of tuna or other grilled or baked fish in a week had lower heart rates overall, averaging 3.2 beats per minute less than those who ate less than one serve per month.
