The Ministry of Health has updated the old RDIs (Recommended Daily Intakes) for New Zealanders.

The new recommendations are now called NRVs, or Nutrient Reference Values, and include more nutrients, more categories and changes to the recommended intakes for some nutrients.

This is the first major review of the nutrient recommendations in 15 years, and New Zealand experts were involved in the process. The expert team included Professor Christine Thomson, University of Otago (Healthy Food Guide editorial advisory board member) and Elizabeth Aitken, Ministry of Health.
