Meat goes from strength to strength

New Zealanders have always been fans of red meat but now it seems we also recognise its nutritional and health benefits.

Despite price increases over the last 12 months, lamb and beef consumption has increased 7-8%. We each eat 44.6 kg per year.

Kiwis today enjoy eating lean beef and lamb regularly, 3 to 4 times a week, which is within the recommended nutritional guidelines for healthy eating.
