Sleeping diet
A good night’s sleep may help keep you trim.
Researchers in the US followed nearly 70,000 women for 16 years and found women who slept five or fewer hours a night were a third more likely to put on at least 15kg more than the sound sleepers in the study.
Other researchers said sleep deprivation may alter the balance of the hormones that control the rate at which kilojoules are burned off.
It might also be that people who sleep less are more tired and hence less active during the day.
